Those random crashes, system slowdowns and anything that gets in your way while you’re working on something important. All this will give you a headache if you are not very familiar with computers and their programs. In most cases, the problem will be something called IDP.Generic. Few users can find them, in some cases even antivirus software cannot detect the file. So it’s like a needle in a haystack, and if you don’t find it, it’ll pierce you.

What is displacement? General?

PDI or identity protection is a virus that steals information from another person, such as bank statements, e-mails, passwords, etc.. The problem occurs when you try to identify and delete a virus file. The file is usually stored under a name with the .exe extension. That way you can’t identify the virus and it goes unnoticed. Sometimes a file is stored under a system file, so deleting these files, even if you identify them, is a risky proposition.

Due to these circumstances it is commonly known as a Trojan horse. It enters your computer and works as expected. In most cases, it is access to personal information that is valuable in many ways. On the other hand, these viruses can also be used to hack and exploit the software you use. The virus also causes problems when you download third-party software without your knowledge, which can make it difficult to use your computer. You may also notice that your computer is slow or slowed down, or that your program shuts down halfway through and crashes. The reason for this is a virus that has installed itself in your computer.

There are several ways to identify this problem and eliminate the virus that causes it. That’s the way to do it.

How do you identify the IDP.Generic virus?

Traditionally, there are two main ways to find this virus on your computer. One of these is the manual method, where you have to check and identify all program files on your computer. To do this, simply search through the names of all the files and their extensions and find the one that is most suspicious. Here are some common file extensions to see if you want to do it manually.

  • Win32:OnLineGames-AB [Trj].
  • Trojan.Crypt.Delf.AF
  • Win32/PSW.Lineage.AJP
  • Trojan.Win32.Generic
  • IDP.ALEXA.51
  • IDP.iss.Generic
  • Win32: Malware

This is one of the most common IDP.Generic viruses you can find on your computer, and it is certainly not complete. There are numerous other files with different names that fall into the same category.

You can also find this virus by using the security application installed on your computer. Any anti-virus program should be able to identify such an IDP.Generic virus and help you remove it easily. When using the software, please note that in rare cases the software is not able to detect these virus files. Indeed, these IDP.Generic files are stored under the name of the program and an antivirus can confuse them with a system file. On the other hand, you are in a situation where the antivirus software adds a normal system file to the IDP.Generic file. The computer is thus forced to shut down these programs to protect the system from external threats.

When this condition occurs, it is called a false positive when a positive file is confused with a false virus file. In any case, if your system has the following problems

  • Delay during execution of the program,
  • arbitrary use of resources,
  • frequent FSODs,
  • increased use of the network,
  • Accident situation,
  • shows ads to which you are not bound in any way.

It is recommended to manually scan the system for such virus files and delete them for safety.

How do I delete the IDP.Generic file from my computer?

Manually deleting these files is not an easy task and requires a thorough understanding of the different program files used by the system. So it’s always a good idea to hire a professional to do it, or you’ll have to learn all the basics if you want to do it yourself.

For Windows 10 users.

Another option is to use antivirus or antivirus software that detects and corrects the problem for you. However, this method is not necessarily 100% effective because security software can confuse a virus file with a safe file and a program file with a virus file.

What are the most common programs that help prevent IDP.Generic virus attacks?

Although there are many programs that can help solve this problem, few are known to do so.

AVG and AVAST are two of the most common software programs that are most effective in removing these virus files from your computer.

How can I prevent my computer from being infected with this virus?

It is easier to avoid these viruses than to identify and remove them. That’s the way to do it.

As mentioned earlier, you may receive a pop-up warning from an authorized software that is falsely positive. In this case, it is best to update the antivirus software you are using, just to be on the safe side. This way you do not have to uninstall and reinstall the program.

  • Multi-program scanning

If you try to identify a virus and nothing appears, we tend to think it’s a false positive. But since this may not be the case, it is safe to check with different programs, since each of them will definitely detect a corrupt or virus file.

  • Avoid third-party software

One of the main ports for this IDP.Generic virus is software that you download from non-confidential or third party platforms. This software may not be completely safe and you run the risk of contaminating your computer.

  • Avoiding hacking programs

Just as with third-party software, third-party software lacks authenticity and carries a high risk of containing a viral file. Not only IDP.Generic, but also various viruses that can cause great losses for you and your computer. It is therefore preferable to stay away from such software and adhere to legitimate software.

The IDP.Generic virus is so common that you’ll encounter it at least once. All you can do is make sure it doesn’t infect your computer too much. In addition, it is always good to have an up-to-date system and to protect against viruses at all times. If you do this manually, it is advisable to make a backup of all required programs before deleting the infected program file. But it’s perfectly normal to give it to a professional who knows what he’s doing. This prevents the problem from getting worse by deleting an important system file and crashing the entire system.
