The user profile service could not connect. The User Profile Cannot Load error message may also appear due to corrupted system or registry files, antivirus software, bad sectors on the hard drive, or problems with the Windows 10 update.
How to correct a user profile login error in Windows 10
You can easily solve the connection problem by following the solutions below. There is a certain requirement for logging into Windows. You can request a condition if your only account is locked. Make sure you followed all the steps correctly to unlock your account and get rid of the User Profile Service has not logged in. Error The user profile is not loaded in Windows 10.
Prerequisites – Switch to security mode and enable the hidden administrator account
You can restart the computer in secure mode and have the hidden administrator account make the following corrections. However, if you can log in with your existing administrator account, you can skip the condition and continue with the solutions.

Now start Windows normally and log in as a hidden administrator. Make sure you deactivate the administrator account after logging in with your local account.

1. Restart PC
If the problem is caused by a temporary error, a quick reboot may solve the problem. And if you’re lucky, no more errors will occur when you reboot your system.
After opening the administrator mode, click the Windows icon and then click the power button. Click the Restart button to restart the computer.

2. Update the Windows 10 operating system
In case of a problem with the Windows update, you can update it again using the hidden administrator account.
Press the Windows + I key to open the Windows Settings application and go to Updates and Security. In the left pane, go to Windows Update and click Check for Updates.
Click Check for updates.
Now download and install the updates; this may take some time depending on the size of the update. Restart the computer, run the update, and verify that you can log in to your local account without the user profile service not being able to log in to Windows 10.
3. Change the start type of the user profile service
If you have problems with the User Profile service, you cannot log in to your account and experience errors with the Windows 10 service. To fix this, you can change the startup type of the user profile service and make sure it works.
Press Windows + R to run the application and type services.msc.

If the user profile service is not active, click the Start button in the properties window to start it. You can then restart the computer and check for connection errors.
4. Execution of SFC command
Corrected system files can also prevent the User Profile Service from logging in to Windows 10. You can check and repair damaged system files by using System File Checker (SFC) utility.
Open a command prompt with administrator privileges and run the command sfc /scannow. You can read the full sfc / scannow manual to know more about the process and this utility in detail.
When this utility repairs the corrupted files, you can reconnect to your local account.
5. Using the DISMUtility
If the SFC scan did not repair the damaged system files, you can try using the Deployment Image & Servicing Management Scan (DISM) utility. This can also be done by simply running a single command in the command line terminal.
Enter a command in the Start menu and right-click to open it as administrator. In the terminal, type the following command and press Enter.

6. Copy the default folder from another Windows computer 10
You can copy the default folder from another Windows 10 PC with the same version and operating system.
To check the version, right-click on this computer and select Properties. You can find the necessary information in the Windows specifications section.

Once you have found a match, follow the instructions below on the other computer.
Navigate to the C:Users folder and click on the View tab on the menu bar. Select the check box next to Hidden Items to see the default folder.

Once the default folder is visible, right click on it and copy and paste it to the USB drive.
Copy and paste the default folder to the USB drive.
Now go back to the affected computer and rename the Default folder to Default.old. You can then connect a USB stick and copy the Default folder from there to the C:Users folder of the PC in question.
Then restart the computer and check if you have discarded the user profile service from an unauthorized connection in Windows 10.
7. Control of plate defects
Errors and bad disk sectors may prevent you from logging in with your local account. You can use the chkdsk command to check the hard drive for errors and correct them.
Make sure you have no open applications or unsaved files before trying this command. The command restarts the computer to check the system hard disk for errors.
Open a command prompt with administrator privileges, as described above, and run that command.
chkdsk c: /f/r
You can replace the alphabet C with the letter of your system disk. After checking for errors and rebooting the system, check if you can log into your local account.
8. Change of registration
You can modify the registry to fix the error that connects the user profile service in Windows 10. It takes a long time to change the record, but you should be able to reconnect without an error message.
Step one: Open it and type regedit. Press the Enter key to open the registry editor.
Step two: In the Registry Editor window, navigate to the following path.

Step three: Now locate the registry keys with the prefix S-1-5 in the ProfileList folder and open each key to find the key associated with the locked profile.
To check which register belongs to the profile of the user causing the error, check the Data field in ProfileImagePath. You will find the name of the account.

If you have two S-1-5 registers with the same suffix line and the same ProfileImagePath, follow these steps. However, if there is only one folder with your ProfileImage path, you can go directly to step 5.
Step four: One file has a .bak and the other does not. The .bak folder is a backup folder that can be used if the original is damaged.
Rename the .bak folder by removing the .bak at the end. Now another folder that didn’t have a .bak extension is renamed at the end by adding a .bak.
Simply put, you switched the names of the two folders.
Step Five: Open the folder with the specified criteria. When you rename a folder, open the folder without the .bak extension.
Step six: Double-click on State DWORD and change the value to 0. Press OK.

Step seven: If you have a DWORD RefCount in the same registry, change the value to 0 and click OK.
Many systems did not have a DWORD RefCount. So if you don’t have that Word, you can just skip this step.
Then restart your computer and try to log in to the blocked account again. You will probably get rid of the user profile service for users who have not logged in. Cannot load the user profile in Windows 10 on the login screen.
9. NTUSER.DATfile modification
If the NTUSER.DAT folder is damaged or corrupted, you may experience connection problems. You can solve this problem by replacing the NTUSER file.
Step one: Log in to the hidden administrator account and navigate to C:UsersDefault. If you don’t see the default folder here, make sure you enable hidden items as described in the solution above.
Step two: Now copy the NTUSER.DAT file and paste it somewhere else. Be careful not to put it in a user’s folder.
Copy the file NTUSER.DAT to another folder.
Step three: Navigate to C:UserPublic
Then copy and paste the folder NTUSER.DAT into the folder C:UsersDefault.
Restart the system and check that the user profile service that could not be accidentally logged into Windows 10 has disappeared.
10. Creating a New User Account
You can create a new user account and transfer all the data from the damaged user account to the new one. Make sure you are logged in with the hidden administrator account to create a new account.

Then go to C:Users, copy all the necessary folders and documents from the damaged user profile and paste them under the newly created profile. You must do this with a hidden administrator account, otherwise permission issues may arise.
11. Delete the MIP and create a new account
Disclaimer : This solution carries certain risks and may cause problems for some users. Therefore, we recommend that you back up the registry and create a system restore point before making this correction.
You can delete the MIP and create a new user account. This can only work if you have multiple user profiles on your system.
Step one: Open the registry editor and go to –
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARmicrosoftWindows NTC CurrentVersionProfileList
Step two: Check the S-1-5 and ProfileImagePath keys in all S-1-5 folders to determine if a user profile is corrupt.
Step three: Once you find the profile, right click on the registry key and delete it.

If there are two identical PIMs with and without the .bak extension, delete them sequentially.

12. Reset windows 10
You can reset Windows 10 without deleting any personal files and data. The installed software is removed, but personal files are not affected. The last option to fix the User Profile Service connection problem in Windows 10 is to reboot the PC.

Disable hidden administrator accounts
When you are done, it is important to disable the hidden administrator account to prevent any threats to the system. You can log in under a different user account and open the command prompt as administrator. Run the following command in the command line terminal window.
