In this article, we rank the best token creation cards, taking into account several criteria: (1) A token creation card that supports the ERC-20 token in the most convenient way possible. (2) A token creation card that is basic and easy to understand. (3) A token creation card that supports multiple tokens in the same contract. (4) A token creation card that enables the developer to create payment tokens without having to write any code.
The last few months of 2017 have been a great time for alternative cryptocurrencies. A lot of them have been maxed out in terms of price, and it looks like the altcoin market is cooling down as we enter 2018. This is why folks are beginning to look for different ways to get their hands on some of the coins, by purchasing tokens on the popular cryptocurrency exchange Binance.
Disposable samples were considered an unnecessary waste of power. Of course they could use some sync decks to expand their set a bit.
But overall, the chips had little impact on the game as a whole.
In 2017, Link’s monsters appeared. With much excitement, it was announced that Link’s monsters can be specifically summoned with very simple materials, including tokens.
Suddenly the interest in summoning tokens increased dramatically, and every game under the sun tried to generate as many tokens as possible.
More tokens means more link challenges, which usually means better monsters and more wins.
In fact, since the advent of monster bindings, 7 token-generating cards have been completely banned in competitive Yu-Gi-Oh – and many others are limited to a single copy in the deck.
So if you want to improve your game using communication, this list will help you with some cards to fill the token drawer – and some tips on how best to use them to improve your game.
15. Multiplying
Multiply is a niche strategy; this card cannot be used in every deck.
But if you’re a connoisseur of Kuriboh’s art, this card is perfect for you.
Use this card against a Kuriboh monster in your hands to summon as many Kuriboh counters as possible in defensive position.
While these tokens cannot be used to summon tributes, you can certainly use them to summon a Bond.
Since the creation of this card, a few new Kuriboh cards have been released.
Now we have Linkuriboh, Link’s version of Kuriboh, Link’s monster.
And we have Junkuriboh, the Yu-Gi-Oh version of 5D.
And much more!
These Kuriboh can be used with Multiply. So if you have a few Kuriboh monsters in your deck, this spell card can be a great way to expand your deck with Link.
14. Generaider Baas Stadium
Generators is a fun archetype based on raid bosses in MMOs.
You know those boss fights that you can only survive as a team with your friends, if you all work together? I had no idea of the origin of this archetype until I studied this card.
In terms of chip generation, this land spell is fantastic for providing you with chips during your opponent’s turn.
At the beginning of your opponent’s turn, you can intentionally summon as many tokens in attack position on your board – but they are all destroyed in the end phase.
This means you always have some form of protection on the field, whether you have a monster or not.
If you build a pure Generaider, you can use these tokens to activate your Generaider monster’s abilities.
But even in the non-genealogical version, this field spell is a great way to tiptoe around the world no matter what.
13. Black Garden
Sometimes generating chips requires small sacrifices.
In this case, the victims are the attack points.
When a player summons a monster, that monster’s attack is halved and that player gets a free Plant Token.
This effect works more than once per turn, so the more tokens you can summon, the more you can make!
But if halving the attack bothers your way of playing, Black Garden has a great way to get rid of it.
You can destroy this spell on the field, as well as any plant monster on the field, to resurrect a plant monster from your graveyard, provided the resurrected monster has an attack equal to the combined attack of all the monsters you just destroyed.
Very useful in plant decks, and very useful in non-plant decks if you have a way to destroy it when you’re done with it.
12. Step loading
Cybers are a new archetype that appeared with Link’s reputation.
They are computer and technology based, with the majority of Yu-Gi-Oh True Tales taking place in a virtual reality dueling world.
If you plan to use the cyberselect strategy, staggered cyberselect is a great way to generate draft chips.
You can summon it for free every time you put a Cybersean monster on the field, which happens almost every turn in a pure Cybersean build.
This card has a decent attack value of 2300, and every time it deals damage to your opponent, you can Special Summon a token from your side of the field.
The more you keep that guy on the field to attack, the more chips you can generate. This card is a great way to make sure you can summon the link every turn.
11. Auroradon Spirit Beast
If you summon this card via the link, you also get 3 free tokens. A real bargain!
The downside to this incredible offer is that you cannot use these tokens to call the link until the end of the turn.
However, you can use it for synchronous calls, tribute calls, or just to activate the effect of this card. This is how it works:
You can discard monsters under your control to destroy a card on the field, summon a Mecha Ghost Beast from your deck, or retrieve a Trap Card from your Graveyard, depending on how many monsters you discard.
The tokens generated by this card are a great way to activate these abilities – and since they’re practically summoned for free, why not?
10. Fighting Waltz
What could be better than a synchronized and incredibly powerful monster on the field?
Apparently, there are two of them!
Combat Waltz allows you to clone one of your synchronized monsters by selectively summoning a token with the same attack, defense, level, type, and attribute.
This card cannot deal combat damage to your opponent. But you can use it to destroy your opponent’s larger monsters.
This allows you to use the original monster to inflict serious damage on your opponent and clear his field of even more monsters.
9. Golden apples
This trap card is a double hit: It protects you from battle damage while giving you tokens to attack or summon through the link.
If you take damage without controlling monsters, you can regenerate those hit points and specially summon a malus token with an attack and defense equal to the damage taken.
(Fun fact: Malus is the scientific name for the apple family, so most apple trees are called Malus, so the chips are Malus chips).
So, if your opponent thinks he has you in a bind by attacking you directly with a big monster, this card will turn the tables.
These apples will not only keep the doctor away, but also the white dragon with blue eyes!
8. Mare
The mare’s challenge will cost two tributes. Which seems like quite a lot for a monster with a 2100 attack.
However, the chip generation effect of this card is well worth the price.
You can lower the level of this card by 1 to specifically summon a level 1 counter with 300 attack and 200 defense. You can do this 3 times per turn, which is the same as putting 3000 attack points on the board!
Mare Mare is also a Monster Tuner, which means you can use this card and its counters to do a Level 7 Synchronous Summon, and maybe more if you control other monsters.
There are some very powerful level 7 Synchro monsters, such as the Black Rose Dragon, making Mare Mare a fantastic tool in any Synchro deck. If you’d like to learn how to draw Black Rose Dragon, you can start with learning dragon drawing by checking illustrations and video tutorial by BIOWARS.
7. Mecha Spirit Beast Dracosak
If you plan on playing a deck with level 7 monsters, this card is probably already designed for your extra deck.
This is one of the best rank 7 monsters in all of Yu-Gi-Oh, thanks to its ability to produce tokens and great effects.
As long as you have a token, that card is indestructible. You can’t destroy him with battles or card effects, which means it takes some serious strategy to defeat Drakozak.
You can also use these tokens to activate the Drakozak ability.
By destroying a Phantom Mecha Beast you control, you can destroy another card on the field.
These are spells, traps, and monsters that can all be taken out with a powerful effect.
6. Gorz, emissary of darkness
This guy was a hand trap before hand traps even existed.
Gorz has completely changed the way Yu-Gi-Oh is played. Suddenly, an empty field can be a trap for something much scarier.
Each time you take combat damage, you can summon Gorz from your hand for free, along with an attack and defense token equal to the damage you just took.
In other words, the stronger your opponent’s monsters are, the more you can hit them in your next turn.
Their big monsters will be their downfall, and I can’t imagine a better way to defeat an opponent.
5. Photonuclear protected area
Probably one of the easiest ways to generate tokens, Photon Sanctuary is a simple spell card that gives you two level 4 tokens with a 2000 attack.
They cannot attack or be used as Synchro Material, and you can only summon Light Monsters until the end of the turn.
However, in link decks that only play light monsters, it’s actually a free monster 2 link!
If your extra deck consists mostly of light monsters, you can even bypass the light monster restriction.
But for the sake of playability, I would recommend this card for purely simple decks like Trickstar.
4. Centipede
Flip monsters have gone from a novelty in Yu-Gi-Oh to a full-fledged strategy with many archetypes using them.
Look at Shaddolls:
It’s a deck that relies on flipped monsters and their effects, and uses great trap cards like Resh Shaddoll Incarnation to activate those flipped effects over and over again.
When Scapeghost is revealed, you may intentionally summon as many sheep tokens as possible to your side of the field.
They have no restrictions, which means you can use them as many times as you want for a trunk call, a synchronous call, or a link call.
3. Double Warrior
It will be hard to find a Sync deck that doesn’t use this card.
This guy’s ability to produce chips makes him fantastic for continuing your synchronized play.
Whenever a monster is summoned from your graveyard, you can summon Double Warrior from your hand.
Synchronized decks are decks that resurrect monsters from the graveyard for a synchronized summon, meaning you can get that guy on the board quickly.
And if you sync a summon with this card, you can summon two tokens instead, giving you even more material to summon.
It’s a great advantage to have a map!
2. Phantom Skyblaster
Generating chips is all well and good, but why not burn your opponent with them?
The Phantom Skyblaster generates a token for each monster you control.
So if you control a monster in the Extra Monster Zone and a monster in the Main Zone, you get 3 counters when you summon that type.
You can then deal 300 damage to your opponent for each Sky Striker monster on the field, which is a decent 1200 damage number considering all your counters.
That’s enough to make or break the game, and it also gives you a whole bunch of material to design.
1. Scapegoat
Spacegoat is really the best for chip generation!
(Yes, I’m embarrassed by that pun too).
With a fast effect speed, you can selectively summon 4 Goat tokens to your side of the field.
While you can’t summon this card on the turn you activate it, you’re not affected at all if you activate Scapegoat on your opponent’s turn.
And if you activate this card during your opponent’s end phase, he gives you 4 materials to immediately summon a reference on your turn.
This combo was so common that Scapegoat was added to the list of banned cards, and you may now only play one copy of this card in your deck.
Scapegoat was so awesome that an entire Yu-Gi-Oh format was named after him: GOAT format.
This format is an old school Yu-Gi-Oh game, with all the cards released before the lost millennium.
Many decks of the era played goat control, using a goat to control the game and make sure the fight happened when you wanted it to – hence the name of the GOAT format!
