5 ways to prevent Skype from automatically starting in Windows 10

There are 5 ways to prevent the Skype desktop application from starting automatically at Windows startup. If you do not use it at all, we recommend that you remove it from your computer completely. However, if you plan to use Skype in the future, or if you currently need it, you can use the following options to disable Skype at startup.

1. Exit the Skype application

If you are using the latest version of Skype, you can simply sign out of the Skype application and it will automatically stop working. To make sure you are using the latest version, click on the 3 dots next to your account name/profile picture and select Settings. Then go to the Help and Comments section.
