How do I restore my phone’s Wi-Fi connection?

There can be many reasons why your Android phone’s WiFi is not working or there is no internet access while other devices are working fine. Apply the solutions below to resolve internet connection issues on Android devices.

Just turn the Wi-Fi network off and on. This will update it and you can fix the problem. Also check that you are connected to the right router.

Wi-Fi may not work on the android because you are too far away from the router. Place the phone as close as possible to the router and try to connect to the Internet.

If battery saver mode is enabled on your smartphone, turn it off and try to turn on Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi not working on Android? 7 quick solutions to fix it 2021

Switch off air mode

When in Airplane Mode, disables all external connections to the phone. Make sure you are not in airplane mode. To check and disable airplane mode, go to the home screen and swipe down from the top of the screen. Look for an icon that looks like an airplane, not marked or labeled On. If yes, click on it to turn off the flight mode.

Professional advice: If Airplane Mode is already disabled, turn it on and off. Now connect to the Wi-Fi network and see if that solves the problem.

Restarting the phone and router

There may be a temporary issue that prevents your Android phone from connecting to the Wi-Fi network or accessing web pages. Restart the phone and router and connect again to see if the problem is solved this time or not.

Restarting the device removes some temporary files and fixes many serious problems that occur on the device.

  • Turn off the router and unplug it for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Then plug it back in and turn the switch on.
  • Press the power button and restart your Android phone.

Forget and reconnect the Wi-Fi network

If your phone is still having trouble connecting or the Wifi is connected but nothing is booting up, forgetting and reconnecting the Wifi network is probably a good solution. If you forget your WIFI network, the device removes this network from the list of registered networks, i.e. it does not remember the password.  If you forget your Wi-Fi network, you can always reconnect, but your phone won’t connect automatically. You will then need to re-enter your Wi-Fi password.

  1. On your phone, open Settings, and then tap Connections or Network and Internet.
  2. Select Wi-Fi. Tap the name of the Wi-Fi you’re connected to, and then tap Forget in the menu that appears.
  3. Try connecting again to the same WLAN with the correct password.

Resetting network settings

If all of the above solutions did not solve the problem, it may be because of the phone and not the internet. Try a network reset, which will reset the changes to the default settings and fix the issues that cause Wi-Fi to not work on Android.

When you reset the network, the Wi-Fi settings are cleared. So you have to re-enter the passwords after the reset. Note that this will also reset the cellular, Bluetooth, VPN and APN settings of your Android device. This way all networks will be started as new or default and it will definitely help you to solve the problem of limited internet connection.

How do I reset the network?

  • In the Settings application, go to General Administration. Press Reset at this point.
  • Tap Network/Wi-Fi and Reset Bluetooth Settings.

This will clear the network and Bluetooth settings. The phone is rebooted. Now try to connect to the WLAN again.

Check date and time on Android device

Sometimes this Internet problem can be caused by an incorrect date and time. It is therefore better to check the time and date. Sometimes there is a difference between the actual time and the time displayed on your device, please correct it. Here’s how,

  • Open your smartphone settings
  • Click on System or General Control.
  • Tap Date and Time, and then select Auto Date and Time or Use Network Time.

Contact your mobile phone operator

If none of the above solutions work, the problem lies with your WLAN operator. It may therefore be useful to contact your mobile phone operator. There may be a problem with your account that only a customer service representative can resolve.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fix my WiFi not working on my Android?

If you are having connectivity issues with your smartphone and can’t get a solid WiFi connection, there are a few things you can do that might help. First, check your WiFi router to make sure it is working properly. If the issue is on your end, try restarting your router and then your smartphone. If restarting doesn’t help, try resetting your router’s settings and then restarting your smartphone. If you are using a portable WiFi hotspot, make sure you have a strong signal. If your Android phone is failing to connect to your local WiFi network, there are several things you can try to fix it: – Check your WiFi signal strength: Go to Settings -> WiFi, and tap the pencil icon (top right) to see the WiFi signal strength next to your WiFi network. If it says “No WiFi signal”, your phone is probably out of range. – Let your phone search for WiFi: If your WiFi network is hidden, go to Settings -> WiFi, and tap the 3 dots (top right) to open advanced settings. Make sure “Keep WiFi on during sleep” is enabled.

Why is WiFi not working on Android?

If you’ve experienced this dreaded issue, then you already know how frustrating it is. Here’s why this problem occurs and how to fix it. By design, Android devices automatically connect to wireless networks that they’ve previously connected to. This feature is great for convenience, but it can be problematic if you forget to disable it. First, let’s look at how this feature works. When you enable Wi-Fi on your Android smartphone, the device scans for local networks and then stores that information in an area of the device that’s reserved for this purpose. If the device finds a network that it’s previously connected to, it will automatically connect without asking you to confirm that you want to do so. In this day and age, we rely more and more on our mobile devices, and using them to connect to WiFi is becoming a must for many of us. This is especially true when it comes to staying connected to work or updating our social media pages. When we can’t connect to WiFi, we are left feeling lost and disconnected from the world around us. (I know this from experience; I’ve had to use a tethering app on my Android phone on more than one occasion when I couldn’t connect to WiFi.)

Why is the WiFi not working on my phone but working on other devices?

Having a WiFi-enabled phone is great when you want to save on data charges or use the Internet in places where the cellular network is spotty. However, when your WiFi isn’t working on your Android phone, you may feel like you’re back in the days of expensive cell phone bills and slow Internet connections. Fortunately, there are several things you can do to troubleshoot any WiFi connection problems you experience with your Android phone and get your WiFi working again. The android WiFi not working problem is a problem that occurs on a lot of android phones. A lot of android phones have a problem where the WiFi will not turn on or will turn off at random times. This is not because the WiFi feature on the phone is broken, it is because of a bug in the software. Articles
